The Podilsky District Prosecutor’s Office in the capital has notified a 34-year-old resident of the Kyiv region of suspicion. According to the case materials, he promised to help an unemployed Kyiv resident get a job at a defense industry enterprise for the purpose of reservation.
This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
The investigation established that the suspect met with an acquaintance several times. He claimed that with his assistance, the latter could avoid mobilization.
“He kept secret exactly where he was proposing to employ the man, saying he would find out later. The suspect valued his services at $1700,” the statement reads.
The individual was detained while receiving money. His actions were qualified as abuse of influence (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), and a restrictive measure was chosen – night-time house arrest. The sanction of the article provides for up to eight years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
On May 25, it was reported that law enforcement officers in the capital detained a woman. According to investigators, she was arranging fictitious employment with reservation for men for $18,000 USD and processing deferments for them to travel abroad.
On May 29, it was reported that law enforcement officers sent charges to court against a 32-year-old man. The investigation found that the suspect sought “clients” among men of conscription age and, for $10,000 USD, along with accomplices, helped them enter EU countries through Belarus.
